Pain management specialist joins Comprehensive Spine Center

November 6, 2017

Kyle Silva, D.O., a board-certified physician who specializes in pain management and physical medicine and rehabilitation, recently joined the expert team at Lifespan’s Comprehensive Spine Center, located at Rhode Island Hospital and now Newport Hospital.

Silva looks forward to collaborating with his colleagues at the Comprehensive Spine Center. “I was drawn to the mission of providing personalized care that incorporates a multidisciplinary approach to pain management. The center is patient-focused and outcomes-driven, which means patients receive the highest level of care,” he said.

Silva has particular expertise in fluoroscopic and ultrasound-guided interventions for pain management and in neuromodulation and regenerative medicine.

Silva received his medical degree from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in Biddeford, Maine. He completed his residency and fellowship at Montefiore Medical Center, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx, New York. An assistant professor of neurosurgery at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, he is a member of the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians and the North American Spine Society, among other professional societies.

Silva is enthusiastic about extending the Comprehensive Spine Center’s reach with the October opening of the Newport office.

“The recent expansion to Newport Hospital will improve accessibility for Rhode Islanders in that region. It's an exciting time to be part of the center’s growth. Practicing at the Comprehensive Spine Center gives me the opportunity to do what I enjoy most – helping those in need of care,” he added.
