Rochelle Rosen, PhD

Senior Research Scientist

Rochelle K. Rosen, PhD, is a senior research scientist with the Center for Behavioral and Preventive Medicine at The Miriam Hospital as well as a medical anthropologist and associate professor in the department of behavioral and social sciences at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. She received her PhD in anthropology from Brown University and completed postdoctoral training in behavioral medicine at the Center for Behavioral and Preventive Medicine.

She is a qualitative methodologist whose extensive experience comprises an array of data collection approaches (e.g., semi-structured interviews, focus groups, vignette design, card sorting, cognitive interviewing) and data analytical strategies (e.g., mixed methods, grounded theory, applied thematic analysis, framework matrix analysis, interpretive phenomenological analysis). She has experience using formative and evaluative qualitative research for mobile health/digital medicine. Drawing on her anthropology background, she works with research teams to address the cultural relevance of health interventions.

She is part of the leadership team in the Lifespan-Brown Center for Digital Health and in the Biostatistics, Epidemiology and Research Design (BERD) core of the RI ADVANCE-CTR.
