Infusion Nurse

Jasmine Osmena, RN, is a nurse at the Multiple Sclerosis Center at Rhode Island Hospital. She specializes in caring for patients who have neuromuscular disorders such as multiple sclerosis, myasthenia gravis, neuromyelitis optica, and chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy.

Osmena administers intravenous medications to patients and monitors them throughout the infusion for any side effects or allergic reactions. She reviews patients’ lab reports and diagnostic imaging, and orders follow-ups. Osmena also assists in Botox treatment for migraines, spasticity, and cervical dystonia (spasmodic torticollis).

She coordinates care for patients who have amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and other neuromuscular disorders.

Osmena earned a bachelor of science degree in nursing from Western Mindanao State University in the Philippines.
