Nurse Practitioner

Karen Hayden, MSN, ANP-BC, RN, CCDS, CVN  is a nurse practitioner with the Lifespan Cardiovascular Institute. She graduated from Rhode Island College with a bachelor of science in nursing. She then received her master’s degree in nursing from University of Massachusetts Dartmouth.  Her experience includes coronary intensive care, cardiac cath lab and vascular nursing.  In addition, she has worked in electrophysiology and the care of cardiac device and arrhythmia patients for nearly 20 years.

She is a certified adult nurse practitioner and a certified vascular nurse with the American Nurses Credentialing Center as well as a certified cardiac device specialist with the International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners.  Hayden has presented at the Brown Arrhythmia symposium and the Rhode Island chapter of the American College of Cardiology symposium. She is a member of the Heart Rhythm Society, American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, Rhode Island State Nurses Association and American Nurses Association.
