Kathryn Basques, MSN, MSW, NP

Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Kathryn Basques, a board-certified psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner, sees patients at the Lifespan Recovery Center and is a consultation liaison provider with The Miriam Hospital’s Addiction Medicine Program.

Prior to joining Lifespan, Basques was an advanced practice provider in the division of addiction medicine at Cooper University Health System in Camden, New Jersey. She served as an advanced practice provider and co-director of the substance use intervention team at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, where she was also an advanced practice provider with the psychiatry consult-liaison service. In 2020, she was selected as the lead advanced practice provider at Rush, in the department of psychiatry. The Illinois Nurses Foundation named Basques one of the 2019 40 Under 40 Emerging Nurse Leaders. She has been a finalist for the Ellen Elpern Voice of the Advanced Practice Nurse Award for four consecutive years.

Basques’ advanced practice career includes positions with Rush Oak Park Hospital in Chicago and Yale-New Haven Hospital in Connecticut. She earned a master’s degree in nursing from Yale University School of Nursing, and a master’s degree in social welfare from the State University of New York at Albany.
