Abigail Mansfield Marcaccio, PhD

Abigail Mansfield Marcaccio, PhD, is a licensed psychologist at the Men’s Health Center at The Miriam Hospital and at the Family Therapy Program, where she also directs the Family Therapy Training Program. She treats difficulties in sexual functioning in couples and individuals and helps couples and families cope with adjustment to illness. She also helps couples, families, and individuals with life transitions, couple issues and family functioning of any type. Dr. Mansfield Marcaccio works with men, women, transgender and gender-fluid patients, couples and families. She sees adult patients of any age and welcomes families with children of any age, as long as the patient of record is an adult.

Dr. Mansfield Marcaccio supervises psychiatry and psychology residents in family therapy at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.  

Dr. Mansfield Marcaccio’s research interests include mood disorders and family functioning, ultra-brief assessment measures for use in routine clinical practice, and more recently, sexual functioning. Her work has been published in many peer-reviewed journals, books and book chapters. She is a member of the American Psychological Association, the Society for Family Psychology, and the International Society for Psychotherapy Research.
