Herbert Aronow, MD, MPH is an interventional cardiologist with expertise in vascular medicine and endovascular intervention. He is the director of interventional cardiology at the Cardiovascular Institute and director of the cardiac catheterization laboratories at Rhode Island and The Miriam hospitals.

His expertise is in cardiovascular disease, and coronary and vascular intervention. He earned a medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School and a master’s degree in epidemiology from the University of Michigan School of Public Health in Ann Arbor. He completed his residency at the University of Michigan Medical Center, and fellowships in cardiovascular medicine and interventional cardiology at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio. Aronow is board certified in cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology, a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, a former member of its board of governors, and the current chair of its Peripheral Vascular Disease Section. He is also a fellow of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Intervention and secretary of the Society for Vascular Medicine Board of Trustees.
