Luca Bartolini, MD

Director, Pediatric Epilepsy Program

Luca Bartolini, MD is the director of the Pediatric Epilepsy Program and attending pediatric neurologist and epileptologist at Hasbro Children’s Hospital and Lifespan Physician Group. He is an assistant professor of pediatrics, neurology, and neurosurgery at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. He specializes in the evaluation and treatment of pharmacoresistant epilepsy, and his work on this subject has been published in many peer-reviewed journals and presented at the national and international levels.

Dr. Bartolini's research interests include surgical evaluation of children with epilepsy and inflammatory mechanisms and genetic features involved in pediatric epilepsy. His research is conducted in collaboration with the Liu Laboratory at the Brown University Center for Translational Neuroscience, and has been supported by the American Epilepsy Society, Epilepsy Foundation of America, Brown University Advance-CTR, and Children’s Miracle Network. Dr. Bartolini serves as Editor of Neurology: Clinical Practice (official journal of the American Academy of Neurology) and is a member of the American Academy of Neurology, the American Epilepsy Society, and the Child Neurology Society.
