Radiation Oncologist

Mudit Chowdhary, MD, is a radiation oncologist at the Lifespan Cancer Institute. Dr. Chowdhary practices general radiation oncology while also specializing in the treatment of genitourinary cancers, lung cancer, and sarcoma. He believes in providing cutting-edge, personalized, and compassionate care for his patients.

Before joining Lifespan, Dr. Chowdhary completed his residency at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, where he also served as chief resident during the last two years of his training. Dr. Chowdhary’s internship was in internal medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai (Morningside/West) in New York City. He obtained his medical degree from Mercer University School of Medicine in Georgia.

Dr. Chowdhary is an avid clinical researcher. His work has been published in prestigious journals including JAMA Oncology, Lancet Oncology, Journal of Thoracic Oncology, and the International Journal of Radiation Oncology, Biology, and Physics. During his training, Dr. Chowdhary was honored as the recipient of grants and scholarships such as the American Society of Clinical Oncology Conquer Cancer Merit Award at the 2019 annual meeting, the Alpha Omega Honor Medical Society Postgraduate Award, Lynn Sage Breast Cancer Symposium Scholars Award, among others.

When Dr. Chowdhary is not at Lifespan caring for his patients, he enjoys spending time exploring beautiful Rhode Island with his wife and two children.
