Ryan S. Hirschfeld, MD


Ryan S. Hirschfeld, MD, is an internist at Lifespan Urgent Care.

Dr. Hirschfeld earned his medical degree at the University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester. He completed a combined internal medicine-pediatrics residency at Rhode Island Hospital and its Hasbro Children’s Hospital. 

Dr. Hirschfeld furthered his professional training with fellowships in pediatric critical care medicine at Johns Hopkins Hospital/Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and in the sub-specialty practice of hospice and palliative care medicine at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.

He is board-certified in internal medicine, pediatrics, and pediatric critical care medicine, and board-eligible in palliative medicine.

Among professional organizations, Dr. Hirschfeld is a faculty member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American College of Physicians, and the Society of Critical Care Medicine.

Effective, compassionate communication in the care of patients with chronic illness is one of the concentrations of his scholarly work and presentations.

Dr. Hirschfeld received the Brown Internal Medicine Residency Award for Excellence in Research and is a member of Alpha Omega Alpha, the national medical honor society.
