Sarah Barnes, PhD


Sarah Barnes, PhD, is a child and adolescent clinical psychologist at Bradley Hospital, where she works in the Children’s Partial Hospital and Children’s SafeQuest Programs

Dr. Barnes earned her master’s degree and doctoral degree in clinical psychology at the University of Memphis in Memphis, Tennessee, where she specialized in child and family studies. She completed her pre-doctoral clinical psychology internship at Yale University School of Medicine/Yale-New Haven Psychiatric Hospital in adolescent and adult intensive outpatient services. Dr. Barnes continued her professional education with a postdoctoral fellowship in child clinical psychology at The Warren Alpert Medical School/Bradley Hospital where she worked in the Children’s Partial Hospital Program and Mindful Teen comprehensive adolescent Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) program.

Her research interests center on understanding the relation between children’s peer relationships and their socioemotional functioning, as well as examining treatment outcomes using measurement-based care protocols. She has co-authored book chapters as well as numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals and has presented her research nationally.
