Lifespan Rehabilitation Services Conference Overview
Learn practical management strategies to improve outcomes for patients who have experienced traumatic orthopedic injury. Discussion will include interdisciplinary approach along the continuum of care, including managing patient and family expectations, pain management, and best practice for therapeutic outcomes. An interprofessional panel of speakers will present. Pediatric and adult tracks available. Participants will receive a certificate for 6 CEUs. APTA RI Approved Course for 6 CEUs.
Conference Objectives:
- To describe current trends and guidelines for the medical, surgical, and rehabilitation management of patients following traumatic orthopedic injury.
- Discuss variety of factors leading to pain after orthopedic injury and discuss how pain neuroscience can optimize therapeutic participation and outcomes.
- Optimize patient and family education and expectations during care and transitions of care.
- Identify unique psychosocial factors impacting rehabilitation following traumatic orthopedic injury and apply strategies to optimize rehabilitation.
