Chapel of Hope
The Rhode Island Hospital Chapel of Hope provides a tranquil place for patients, families and staff of all faiths to reflect and pray as they cope with some of life's most profound moments. Though conveniently located, the chapel allows visitors to experience a sense of distance from the hectic hospital environment.
Extensive renovations to the chapel were completed in 2007. Colors, textures and images were carefully selected to give the chapel a calming ambiance. The refurbished space, designed by Al Oaks of Arris Design, features an original, hung stained glass ceiling and stained glass walls created by local artist Peter Geisser.
Geisser's stunning stained glass arrangement depicts an abstract land, sea and skyscape. His work can also be seen in the Lifespan Cancer Institute at Rhode Island Hospital and the Hasbro Children's Hospital chapel. Geisser's stained glass creations also adorn many churches, public buildings and private homes throughout New England.
We welcome you to visit the chapel as often as you'd like. We hope you find it to be a peaceful place filled with hope.
