If you need to be admitted to the hospital for an eating disorder, you will receive comprehensive, evidence-based care for your illness. The goals of inpatient hospitalization are to:

Your care will be managed using a multidisciplinary team approach. The team consists of: you, your family, nurses, physicians (adolescent medicine, psychiatry, pediatric residents), registered dietitians, diet technicians, social workers, child life specialists and a hospital teacher. This team of providers will see you daily while you are in the hospital.
Your parents are welcome to stay in the hospital with you 24 hours per day. Your siblings are allowed to visit during hospital visiting hours. Visitors are initially limited to immediate family. Additional visitors are determined in collaboration with you, your family and the treatment team. Clergy from your religious institution are welcome to visit you as well.
You will be required to wear hospital pants and a short or long sleeved t-shirt during your admission. You will also be required to wear hospital slippers (no shoes) during your stay. We ask that you leave all electronics and print magazines at home. Books, hobbies, etc are generally allowed, and will be reviewed with the nurse at the time of your admission to the hospital.
