Recipe submitted by Katie Lester, MS, RD, LDN, CIC, a clinical dietitian at Lifespan’s Women’s Medicine Collaborative, where she practices as part of the Lifestyle Medicine Center team.


  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/4 cup chopped or slivered almonds
  • 1/4 cup pumpkin seeds or pepitas
  • 1 tbsp. honey or 100% maple syrup
  • 1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract


Yield: 1 1/3 Cups Time: About 90 minutes

Thoroughly mix ingredients in a bowl.

Spread out mixture on a baking sheet.

Bake at 325 degrees Fahrenheit for 25 minutes, or until golden brown and aromatic. Re-mix halfway through baking.

Remove granola from baking sheet. Allow to cool for one hour before eating.
