Adopt a Family Program

Christopher Benedick, MD, was a beloved child psychiatrist at Bradley hospital. He served as the vice president of the medical staff and was the chief of the children’s unit for six years prior to his sudden and unexpected death. He died in 2004 at 38 years old, leaving behind a wife, two young daughters and many saddened patients, families and staff. To honor Benedick’s passion for his work and his joyful spirit, the Adopt a Family Program was renamed in his memory.

Choose “Adopt a Family” from the drop-down menu on the donation form. Thank you.

The Christopher Benedick Adopt a Family program has operated annually since Dr. Benedick’s passing in 2004 and has benefitted hundreds of needy families. Given the economic hardship faced by many of Bradley's patients and their families, we hope you will join the Bradley Hospital department of social work in a special fundraising effort to help us provide families with basic necessities as well as gift cards to empower them to do their own holiday shopping.

Donate in Honor of a Loved One

Another way to be generous is by making a donation in honor of a special person or in memory of a loved one, just as we have named this program in memory of  Chris Benedick, MD, whom you can read about on this page. We will send a holiday card to the honoree recognizing the contribution made in their name. What better way to give to families and their children than by honoring a loved one and/or a special person this holiday season. This service is also available online.
