During a “Build Back Better” tour of Rhode Island, U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services Xavier Becerra visited Bradley Hospital to learn more about the history of the nation’s first psychiatric hospital exclusively for children, and the behavioral health programs and services available to patients. While at the hospital, Secretary Becerra joined President Dr. Henry Sachs in a round table discussion in Bradley Hospital’s Pine Room together with Senator Jack Reed, Senator Sheldon Whitehouse, Congressman James Langevin, Congressman David Cicilline, Secretary of Rhode Island’s Executive Office of Health and Human Services Womazetta Jones, Rhode Island Education Commissioner Angélica Infante-Green and Rhode Island Department of Children, Youth, and Families Acting Director Kevin Aucoin. Following the conversation, Dr. Henry Sachs led the delegation on a tour of the children’s inpatient program and then finished with a walk outdoors through the hospital’s inner courtyard.
