Jessica Powers, MS

Jessica Powers, MS, is a current psychology resident in Behavioral Medicine at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, working with Laura Stroud, PhD, as her research mentor. She is also a sixth-year doctoral candidate in Clinical Psychology at Syracuse University. Powers received a BA in Psychology from Northwestern University. Prior to entering the clinical psychology PhD program at Syracuse, Powers worked at Massachusetts General Hospital as a Clinical Research Coordinator in the Center for Addiction Medicine.

Powers' translational program of research focuses on substance use and dependence among chronic medical populations, with an emphasis on chronic pain. Her research is currently examining pain as a risk factor for initiation and continuation of cigarette and e-cigarette use/co-use using data from the Population Assessment of Tobacco and Health (PATH) Study.
