Kathleen Coyne, MSN, RN, CDP, is a clinical nurse educator in the Center for Professional Practice and Innovation at Newport Hospital. She has over 35 years of critical care experience combined at the bedside and in management and educational roles. She has worked in many areas of hospital care, including intensive care, medical surgical telemetry, emergency department and perioperative care areas. Coyne is committed to developing emergency response team skills with clinical staff to optimize patient outcomes, and has taught basic dysrhythmia courses. She collaborates with the Simulation Center to organize and support code skill sessions at Newport Hospital for staff in both the inpatient and outpatient services.
