Mark Rivard, Ph.D., DABMP, DABR, FAAPM, FABS, FASTRO, is the chief of brachytherapy physics service and a clinical medical physicist at the Lifespan Cancer Institute

He is certified in radiation oncology physics from the American Board of Medical Physics and therapeutic radiologic physics from the American Board of Radiology.

He has presented at numerous conferences and collaborated on medical research published in academic journals. 

Prior to joining Lifespan, he worked as the chief science officer at CivaTech Oncology Research Triangle Park, North Carolina and several leading medical physics division roles at Tufts Medical Center, as well as other medical, research, and teaching positions.

He earned a master’s in radiological physics and a doctorate in medical physics from Wayne State University in Detroit.

He is a member of the American Association of Physicists in Medicine, the American Brachytherapy Society, the American Society of Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology, the Leksell Gamma Knife Society, and the American Nuclear Society.
