Healing Arts Program Manager

Melissa Weaver, LMHC, ATR-BC (she/her), is a licensed mental health counselor and board-certified art therapist who offers clinical care and manages the Healing Arts Program at Bradley. In her 10 plus years at Bradley, she has worked with nearly every program. Weaver currently treats patients in the Pediatric Partial Hospital Program, Children’s Residential and Family Treatment Program, Adolescent Partial Hospital Program, Pediatric Anxiety Research Center Partial Programs, Bradley REACH, and Outpatient Services.

Before arriving at Bradley, Weaver gained experience in a variety of settings working at residential, educational, and clinical programs throughout southern New England. Weaver was formally trained in painting at the Hartford Art School in West Hartford, Connecticut, where she earned her bachelor of fine art degree. She went on to study expressive therapies at Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where she earned her master’s degree in art therapy and mental health counseling.

Weaver brings medium-based exploration and a process-oriented approach to art-making with children and adolescents. In this way, art therapy utilizes the creative process of art making to improve and enhance the physical, mental and emotional well-being of the children and adolescents here at Bradley Hospital.
