Philip Gruppuso, MD

Philip Gruppuso, MD, is a professor of pediatrics at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University and a professor of molecular biology, cell biology and biochemistry (research) in Brown University’s division of biology and medicine. He received his medical degree from the University of Rochester in Rochester, New York. He completed his residency in pediatrics and, subsequently, clinical training in metabolism and pediatric endocrinology at Rhode Island Hospital.

Gruppuso’s research focus is on the mechanisms that regulate somatic growth. He has had continuous funding from the U.S. National Institutes of Health since 1983 and had been a graduate program trainer at Brown University since 1995.
