Aaron W.P. Maxwell, MD is an interventional radiologist and the current director of vascular and interventional radiology at Rhode Island Hospital. Dr. Maxwell also serves as the director of interventional oncology at the Lifespan Cancer Institute. His clinical interested include radioembolization, ablation, and interventional pain management. His research focuses on improving outcomes for patients with cancer receiving minimally-invasive image-guided therapies in the liver, lung, and kidneys.

Dr. Maxwell graduated from the Robert Larner, MD College of Medicine at the University of Vermont in Burlington. His residency in diagnostic radiology was completed at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, followed by fellowship training in interventional radiology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, New York. He is board certified in diagnostic and interventional radiology.
