Alison Riese, MD, MPH

Alison Riese, MD, MPH, is a board certified pediatrician at Hasbro Children’s Hospital and assistant professor of pediatrics and medical science at Alpert Medical School of Brown University. She completed an injury prevention research fellowship and a masters in public health from Brown University. Dr. Riese currently directs the Hasbro Primary Care Clinic’s Urgent Care, as well as the Nexplanon (long-acting reversible contraceptive implant) program within the clinic.

In addition to her clinical role, Dr. Riese is one of the course directors for Alpert Medical School of Brown University’s Primary Care-Population Medicine duel degree program. Dr. Riese’s research focuses on pediatric injury prevention. Specifically, her interests involve adolescent health risk behaviors, including youth violence, drugs and alcohol use, and sexual behavior, as well as improving doctor-patient communication around these topics.
