Carla D. Correia, PsyD

Staff Psychologist

Carla D. Correia, PsyD, a staff psychologist at Bradley Hospital, specializes in child and family psychology. She is a clinical assistant professor of psychiatry and human behavior at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.

She attended the Virginia Consortium Program in clinical psychology where she earned a master’s degree in community/clinical psychology and a doctorate degree in clinical psychology. She completed a predoctoral internship at The May Institute in Boston in the behavioral health services track and a post-doctoral fellowship in child clinical psychology at Brown University, Rhode Island.

Dr. Correia’s clinical experience has focused on supporting children and their families in community settings. She has worked as a clinician in community health centers and therapeutic day schools and has co-led parenting groups in public schools and community settings. She was a cognitive behavioral therapist with the Teen Thrive Study, a research study that examined the benefits of group yoga programs for teens with depression and elevated levels of stress. Dr. Correia is also engaged in teaching activities through the Brown pre-college summer program.

Licensed in both Rhode Island and Massachusetts, Dr. Correia is a member of the American Psychological Association and the Society of Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology.
