Carol T. Lewis, MD

Medical Director, Hasbro Pediatric Primary Care; Director, Refugee Health Program

Carol Lewis, MD, is the medical director of Hasbro Children's Hospital's Pediatric Primary Care. She is also founder and director of the HCH Refugee Health Program. This program provides timely access to primary care for a group of patients who have an increased health burden and increased barriers to health care. These programs focus on care coordination and patient centered care.

Dr. Lewis also leads the Patient Centered Medical Home-Kids (PCMH-Kids) initiative, which transforms health care delivery for the entire HCH pediatric primary care. This is a team-based and comprehensive approach to the management of not only medical care but also mental health care and the socioeconomic challenges as well. Institutions with this status are recognized as those that deliver high quality care, lower costs, improved patient experience and better health outcomes.
