Cecilia Fix, MD

Director, Addiction Medicine

Cecilia Fix, MD, is the director of Lifespan’s division of addiction medicine and sees patients at Rhode Island Hospital. She also serves as an assistant professor of medicine, psychiatry and human behavior at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.

Before joining Lifespan, Dr. Fix was the medical director of the overdose prevention program at Stanley Street Treatment and Resources (SSTAR). She previously worked as an HIV and primary care provider at the Early Intervention Program at Cooper University Healthcare, and as assistant professor at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University in Camden, NJ.

Dr. Fix completed medical school at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and completed her residency in internal medicine at Columbia University, New York Presbyterian Hospital. She also completed the David C. Lewis MD Fellowship in Addiction Medicine at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.

She is fluent in Spanish and French.
