Ellen Flynn, MD, MTS is a psychiatrist in Women’s Behavioral Medicine at the Women’s Medicine Collaborative. She is also a clinical associate professor of psychiatry and human behavior as well as a clinical associate professor of medicine at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. Dr. Flynn is a certified MBSR instructor through the Center for Mindfulness. She is also the director of the Resilience Project at the Embodied Neuroscience Lab and a faculty advisor to the Mindfulness Center at Brown.

Dr. Flynn received a medical degree from University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester, Massachusetts. She completed a residency in adult psychiatry at University of Massachusetts Medical School. She trained in psychosomatic medicine, completing a fellowship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts, and holds a master of theological studies degree from Harvard Divinity School in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Dr. Flynn was awarded formal certification as a mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) instructor from the Center for Mindfulness, Oasis Institute at the University of Massachusetts Medical School.

Dr. Flynn is board certified in psychiatry and psychosomatic medicine. Her clinical interests include perinatal psychiatry, consultation-liaison psychiatry, and mindfulness-based interventions in health care.

Lifestyle Medicine

Dr. Flynn is a Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction instructor at the Lifestyle Medicine Center. Her interests include mindfulness-based interventions in healthcare. She is a certified Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction instructor through the Center for Mindfulness, Oasis Institute at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. Dr. Flynn serves as faculty advisor to the Mindfulness Center at Brown University.
