Francine Touzard-Romo, MD

Francine Touzard-Romo, MD, leads the Infectious Diseases inpatient consult service at Newport Hospital and is the Director of Infection Control and Antimicrobial Stewardship at Newport Hospital. Dr. Touzard-Romo completed her Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases training at John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital and Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. She completed T-32 postdoctoral fellowship in HIV and co-infections at The Miriam Hospital in 2012 and then joined as Brown Faculty in the Division of Infectious Diseases in 2015. Her research focus has been HIV antiretroviral toxicity and prosthetic joint infections and currently works collaboratively with the infection control and antimicrobial stewardship teams at Lifespan. She is fluent in Spanish and serves as HIV primary care provider at The Immunology Center in Providence.
