Gisela Gabriela Jimenez-Colon, PhD

Gisela Jimenez-Colon, PhD, a bilingual clinical psychologist, obtained her PhD from Albizu University in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She completed her clinical pre-doctoral internship at the Children’s Institute in Los Angeles, on the trauma track, where she became certified in trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT). Dr. Jimenez-Colon completed her postdoctoral fellowship at The Warren Alpert Medical School and Bradley Hospital.

She was recently awarded a pilot grant by Brown University's Advance Clinical and Translational Research program to work with Latinx/Hispanic caregivers who have symptoms of trauma. Her overarching goal is to develop interventional strategies that facilitate treatment engagement for underserved populations, particularly Spanish-speaking families impacted by trauma.
