Jeniimarie Febres, PhD

Program Director, Family Therapy Program

Jeniimarie Febres, PhD, is a clinical psychologist and program director of the Family Therapy Program. She is also the assistant director of quality and the associate director of psychology with the adult psychiatry program. She specializes in the treatment of adults in individual, couples, and family therapy. Her research interests include couples and family functioning.

Dr. Febres earned a doctorate degree in clinical psychology from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville where she trained in the treatment of adult individuals and couples coping with a broad range of disorders and concerns, and conducted research in intimate partner violence. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at the VA New Jersey Healthcare System where she provided individual and group psychotherapy to veterans with PTSD, substance use disorders, and mood disorders both in-person and via telehealth. Upon completion of her academic training, she pursued a fellowship at the VA Bedford Healthcare System in Massachusetts where she deepened her training in outpatient treatment, clinic administration, and program development.

Dr. Febres’ work has been published in many peer-reviewed journals and encyclopedias. She has also served as a reviewer for a number of scientific publications, such as the Journal of Family Psychology and the Journal of Interpersonal Violence. She is a member of the American Psychological Association.
