Laura E. Korthauer, PhD

Neuropsychologist

Laura E. Korthauer, PhD, is a clinical neuropsychologist with Brown University Health’s Psychiatry and Behavioral Health Services. Dr. Korthauer completed her PhD in clinical psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She went on to complete her clinical psychology residency in neuropsychology and an Aging and Dementia Fellowship at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University/Rhode Island Hospital.

Dr. Korthauer performs neuropsychological evaluations for diagnostic and treatment planning purposes, with a specialty in aging and neurodegenerative diseases.

Her research interests include the use of neuroimaging, EEG, and novel digital cognitive measures to improve early detection of Alzheimer’s disease and other neurodegenerative disorders. She has also co-developed a new intervention, TEACH (Tailored Education for Aging and Cognitive Health) to help people engage in healthy behaviors to reduce risk for Alzheimer’s disease.

Dr. Korthauer is a member of the International Neuropsychological Society, the Alzheimer’s Association International Society to Advance Alzheimer’s Research and Treatment (ISTAART), and Society for Psychophysiological Research.
