Research

Dr. Bublitz's research aims to understand the biological and psychosocial mechanisms linking psychological stress to poor health, with a specific focus on the impact of perinatal stress on adverse pregnancy outcomes, and to examine if mindfulness interventions in pregnancy alter maternal psychological and biological pathways linked to adverse perinatal health. Dr. Bublitz is principal investigator of a clinical trial of mindfulness training for women at risk for hypertensive disorders of pregnancy, which tests effects of a phone-delivered mindfulness intervention on blood pressure in pregnancy.
