Melissa McWilliams, PhD

Melissa McWilliams, PhD, is a licensed clinical psychologist with Lifespan Physician Group, based in the outpatient department of Bradley Hospital. She works with patients and their families through Bradley Hospital’s Verrecchia Clinic, Mindful Teen Program, and its crisis team.

Dr. McWilliams earned a PhD in school psychology from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship in child and adolescent psychology at Intermountain Healthcare, Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City, where she also completed a clinical internship in psychology. Dr. McWilliams earned a master’s degree in clinical psychology from Roger Williams University, Rhode Island.

Dr. McWilliams is a national certified school psychologist, who brings experience gained through work in multiple inpatient, outpatient, and school settings while in North Carolina and Utah. In addition to frequent presentations at professional conferences, Dr. McWilliams has co-authored several textbook chapters and articles for peer-reviewed journals, most recently, Innovative Higher Education and Journal of Student Affairs Research and Practice. She is a member of the American Psychological Association and the Rhode Island Psychological Association.
