Michael P. Staebler, MD is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine, and a clinical assistant professor at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.

His areas of interest and expertise include operative and nonoperative treatment of sports injuries in children and adults at the recreational, collegiate and professional levels. His surgical skills include minimally invasive arthroscopic treatment of shoulder, knee, and ankle injuries, but he also performs hip and knee replacement, and custom partial knee resurfacing in older athletes with arthritis.

A native Rhode Islander, he earned his medical degree from the Brown-Dartmouth Medical Program and completed a residency in orthopedic surgery at Rhode Island Hospital. He gained further expertise through a fellowship in orthopedic trauma at Rhode Island Hospital and a fellowship in sports medicine at Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore.

Dr. Staebler is a member of the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons, American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, and American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine.
