Mohammed K. Faizan, MD

Director, Pediatric Nephrology and Hypertension, Hasbro Children's Hospital

M. Khurram Faizan, MD, FAAP is the director of the division of pediatric nephrology and hypertension. He has served on our staff as a pediatric nephrologist since 2005 and is an associate professor of pediatrics (clinical) at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.

Faizan earned bachelor’s degrees in medicine and surgery from Aga Khan University in Karachi, Pakistan and is certified by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates. Faizan completed his clinical fellowship in pediatric nephrology at the University of Washington and the Children’s Hospital and Regional Medical Center in Seattle, where he received the National Kidney Foundation and American Society of Transplantation fellowship research award. He completed his pediatric residency at Pennsylvania State University in Hershey, Pennsylvania, and the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, where he also served as chief resident. He is a member of the American Society of Pediatric Nephrology, the American Society of Nephrology and the International Pediatric Nephrology Association.

His research interests include the relationship between blood pressure, childhood obesity and microalbuminuria, and the role of novel therapies for the treatment of focal sclerosis and minimal change disease.
