Clinical Psychologist

Rebecca Laptook, PhD, is a clinical psychologist at the Hasbro Children's Partial Hospital Program (HCPHP) where she conducts clinical assessment and provides individual, group, and family therapy to children and adolescents presenting with combined medical and psychiatric illnesses.

Dr. Laptook serves as the co-director of training for psychology practicum, resident, and post-doctoral trainees who rotate through the HCPHP. She is also the director of staff development and training at the HCPHP and coordinates the staff and trainee learning series designed to promote continuing educational experiences that pertain to the patient population the program serves. Dr. Laptook has particular interests and expertise in childhood anxiety, selective mutism, functional neurological disorder, child temperament, and parent-child interactions.

Dr. Laptook received her doctorate in clinical psychology from the State University of NY at Stony Brook. She completed her internship at NY Presbyterian-Columbia University Medical School and subsequent child postdoctoral fellowship at North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System. Dr. Laptook is an Associate Professor, Clinician Educator, in both the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior and Department of Pediatrics at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.
