Robert Miranda Jr., PhD, ABPP, directs the Vista Clinic at Bradley Hospital and is an associate professor of psychiatry and human behavior at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. A leader in the assessment and treatment of substance use disorders in youth, for more than 20 years he has treated adolescents struggling with addiction.

Dr. Miranda is committed to advancing our understanding of how addiction develops and progresses during adolescence, with the goal of improving clinical practice. He directs a federally funded research program that focuses on the treatment of adolescents who have substance use disorders, with a special concentration on testing new pharmacological interventions and using new technologies to advance assessment strategies.

Dr. Miranda has served as principal investigator, co-investigator, or mentor on more than 30 federally funded research projects, and has developed several new assessment and intervention approaches for adolescents with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. He has been a consultant for federal agencies and foreign governments.
