Thomas J. Seery, MD

Medical Director, Pediatric Cardiology

Thomas J. Seery, MD, is medical director of pediatric cardiology at Hasbro Children’s Hospital.

He joined Hasbro Children’s in 2023 as medical director for the Pediatric Heart Center and is an associate professor of pediatrics at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. Dr. Seery has previously been on staff at Texas Children’s Hospital and UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh. He enjoys being involved in medical student and graduate medical education and has been honored with teaching awards at both of his prior institutions.

Dr. Seery earned a medical degree from The Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine and completed an internship and residency in pediatrics at the National Capital Consortium (Walter Reed Army Medical Center/National Naval Medical Center) in Washington, DC. He then served as a general pediatrician at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, the US Army’s tertiary care medical center in Germany. He separated from active duty in the Army in 2009 and then completed a fellowship in pediatric cardiology at Children's National Hospital in Washington, DC. He enjoys building partnerships with primary care providers to best manage the long-term needs of children and adolescents with congenital heart disease. Dr. Seery also greatly enjoys the management of cardiac conditions in the Neonatal and Pediatric Intensive Care Units.

He is board certified in general pediatrics and pediatric cardiology and is a Fellow of both the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and the American College of Cardiology (ACC). Dr. Seery currently serves on the editorial board for PREP Cardiology.
