Children's Partial Hospital Program at Bradley Hospital

The Children's Partial Hospital Program (CPHP) at Bradley Hospital is a specialized program that provides comprehensive evaluation and intensive treatment for children ages 7 through 12 and their families. The primary goal of the program is to help children safely live at home while offering children and their families the opportunity to work on emotional, social, and behavioral difficulties that occur at home and in the community.

We can be reached by phone at 1-855-543-5465 (KIDLINK) or fax 401-432-1524.

The program operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Children and their families generally participate for four to eight weeks; the length of stay is determined mutually by you and the CPHP team. When a child is ready to be discharged from the program, the treatment team will work with parents to arrange follow-up services and support.

Our Team

Our program team is comprised of a psychiatrist, psychologists, a social worker, a nurse, a special education teacher, art therapists, occupational therapists, milieu associates, and other consultants as needed. A primary clinician coordinates each child's care, which includes a thorough assessment and diagnosis of the child's strengths and needs. This clinician also coordinates among the members of the CPHP staff and with the child's primary care physician and/or other treatment and medical care providers to create a comprehensive treatment plan that enhances the child's strengths and increases family members' ability to effectively manage mental health needs and promote healthy development. The team also assists with transition back to school and to follow-up care.

Each child's care includes the following:

  • Family therapy
  • Education/tutoring
  • Milieu therapy
  • Psychiatric care
  • Group and individual therapy
