Special Programs

The Children's Neurodevelopment Center offers several special programs and a support team who is available every day to respond to parents' concerns and to ensure coordination of the child's multiple services across the continuum of care.

Special programs include the following:

  • The Max All Star Kids/Pediatric Palliative Care Program helps families with children who have chronic or life-threatening medical conditions. The goals are to ensure relief of pain and distressful symptoms for the child, and to offer services that enhance the comfort and quality of life for both the child and his family. The program seeks to give emotional and spiritual support, assistance in decision making and care planning, and access to community resources and services. This program is a grant-supported initiative.

  • Family-Centered Care Committee, The Children’s Neurodevelopment Center is committed to the philosophy that family involvement is central to a child’s health and healing. Practitioners and staff collaborate with each other and partner with families to promote shared decision-making and ensure optimal outcomes for each child and family. If you have questions or would like to become involved with the center’s parent groups and activities, please contact our family liaison at 401-444-9089.

  • DreamNight at the Zoo, is an exclusive evening at the zoo where children with special health care needs such as cerebral palsy, spina bifida and developmental conditions can enjoy the full zoo experience, along with their families, free of charge and without concern for social stigma, accessibility or cost.
