About the Lung Cancer Screening Clinic
An abnormal result of a low-dose CT (LDCT) does not mean a patient has cancer. What the LDCT has detected could be attributed to a wide array of conditions. If that is the case, our team will be able to make referrals to the appropriate specialists. The Lifespan Cancer Institute’s Lung Cancer Screening Clinic has the expertise to accurately diagnose each patient. As Rhode Island’s leading cancer program, we have the most advanced diagnostic imaging technology as well as a team of expert, world-renowned physicians including surgical oncologists, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, radiologists and pathologists.
Our support staff of physical therapists, nurses, clinical social workers, patient navigators, pharmacists and nutritionists are here to assist patients every step of the way, from diagnosis to treatment to follow-up care. The Lifespan Cancer Institute's behavioral medicine program also provides smoking cessation services and other support services for patients and families.
