The Medical Heart Failure and Transplant Program

Our New Location

The Lifespan Cardiovascular Institute Medical Heart Failure practice is located within the Advanced Cardiac Care Center located in the George Building at Rhode Island Hospital. This is a hospital outpatient department at Rhode Island Hospital, also known as a provider-based clinic. These facilities are held to high standards of care and are required to meet federal accreditation standards for hospitals.

Access to Advanced Treatments in a Central Location

At the Advanced Cardiac Care Center, patients receive the same excellent treatment from their physicians and advanced practice providers who know them, their cardiac issues and concerns, and the care plan that best meets their needs. Patients are offered a broader array of advanced treatments in one central location.

Scheduling Appointments

At the first visit, patients will be asked to sign a new record release form, confidentiality agreement, and consent form.

Billing Updates

As of January 1, 2023, the medical bill or statement of benefits provided by the insurance company identifies Rhode Island Hospital as the health care provider, and not Lifespan Physician Group.

Since the Advanced Cardiac Care Center is an outpatient hospital department, each visit will likely incur two charges: one for hospital services and one for physician services. Depending on insurance benefits, this may increase copays or coinsurance costs and these fees may also be applied to the deductible. For the most accurate cost information, contact your insurance provider about your coverage in a hospital outpatient department.
