Peritoneal Dialysis

Rhode Island Hospital is pleased to offer the largest home peritoneal dialysis program. This program offers dialysis patients who are suffering from kidney failure the opportunity to remain at home for treatment using a portable dialysis machine.

If you desire to keep an active lifestyle, work, travel, recreational activities then this program may be for you. It allows patients requiring dialysis to have the freedom to dialyze in their home, in most cases overnight and continue many of the activities that may not be possible with in center dialysis.

The portable dialysis machine easily packs into a travel case that is used to transport.

Patients interested in peritoneal dialysis will need to call the dialysis center and speak with the staff to review options. Training is provided to patients and/or families with ongoing support.
