Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine

The mission of the Rhode Island Hospital division of pulmonary, critical care and sleep medicine is to improve the health of individuals with lung diseases, sleep disorders and critical illnesses. 

We seek to achieve this mission by:

  • Providing compassionate, comprehensive and state-of-the-art care to our patients, from those with routine illnesses to those with complex and rare diseases.
  • Educating patients and family members about their illnesses, so that they can be active participants in improving and maintaining their respiratory health.
  • Training the next generation of academic pulmonary and critical care physicians in The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellowship Training Program.
  • Improving our understanding of how best to diagnose and treat lung diseases and critical illness through an active research program at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.
