Craig P. Eberson, MD, specializes in the treatment of orthopedic disorders in children. His main clinical interests are the treatment of scoliosis and other spinal disorders; congenital or acquired or problems of the lower extremities in children; and pediatric fracture care.

Dr. Eberson is chief of pediatric orthopedics at Hasbro Children’s Hospital and an attending physician at Rhode Island and its Hasbro Children's hospitals. He is professor of orthopedic surgery and vice chair for education in the department of orthopedics at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. He is the author of numerous book chapters, scientific articles, and national presentations related to the orthopedic care of children.

His current research interests include the treatment of spinal disorders, Improving the educational process for medical students and residents in orthopedic surgery, and the treatment of pediatric musculoskeletal injuries.

Dr. Eberson attended college at the University of Pennsylvania before completing his medical degree with honors at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in his native state of New Jersey. Dr. Eberson finished his orthopedic residency at Brown University. He furthered his education and training with a fellowship in Pediatric and Adult Orthopedic Trauma at Brown University followed by fellowship training at the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children in Dallas. At Scottish Rite Hospital, Dr. Eberson served as the Edwards Fellow in Pediatric Orthopaedics and Scoliosis.

Dr. Eberson believes that training the next generation of orthopedic surgeons is a tremendous responsibility and privilege. He has a passion for education and has helped develop the curriculum for educators and members of the Pediatric Orthopedic Society, and has lectured to international audiences. He serves as the vice chair for education in the Brown University department of orthopedics, having previously served as the director of the residency program.

He is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (ABOS), is a member of the Pediatric Orthopedic Society of North America, American Osteopathic Association (AOA), American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), Scoliosis Research Society,  and the Rhode Island Orthopedic Society.
