Licensed Clinical Therapist

Kelsey Coletta is a licensed independent clinical social worker and licensed chemical dependency professional seeing patients at the Lifespan Recovery Center. She specializes in individual and group mental health and substance abuse counseling in English and Spanish.

Before joining Lifespan in her current role, she worked as an outpatient mental health and substance use counselor at VICTA. She previously worked as a counselor at The Providence Center and as a certified nursing assistant at The Miriam and Newport hospitals.

Kelsey has experience in policy and advocacy, including drafting legislation aimed at alleviating a backlog of rape kits, which was signed into Rhode Island state law in 2022. Her advocacy work primarily focuses on harm reduction and addressing gaps in access to effective substance use and mental health treatment. 

She earned a master’s degree in social work at Simmons University and a bachelor’s degree in psychology at Rhode Island College. She is a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC).

She is a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and an associate member of the National Association for Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors (NAADAC).
