I love big families. I grew up in one.
And now I’ve got one of my own. We’ve got four young children. I wouldn’t mind having 12 kids—if I were a billionaire—because they sure wouldn’t fit in this house. Obviously with four kids under the age of six, our lives are pretty hectic. Just going to the grocery store by myself can feel like a little vacation.
But I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Our kids are healthy and happy. We’ve had our share of colds and ear infections. God bless the person who invented tubes. But—knock on wood—nothing serious. All of our kids were born at Newport Hospital. One son gave us a little scare as his heart rate dropped during labor. He turned out fine. While another was in my arms 45 minutes after we arrived at the hospital! But all of them were amazing experiences, and I’ve even become good friends with some of the nurses.
I never know exactly what tomorrow will be. Actually, that’s not true. I do know. Tomorrow is going to be crazy. And I can’t wait.
