Four hospitals within the Brown University Health system received an ‘A’ Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit upholding the standard of patient safety in hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers. The four hospitals gaining this distinction in patient safety are Rhode Island Hospital, The Miriam Hospital, Newport Hospital and Saint Anne’s Hospital.

Rhode Island Hospital Comprehensive Stroke Center has earned the prestigious recertification from the Joint Commission for the 10th consecutive year. “Our team is proud to deliver world-class care to our patients,” said Melissa Harmon, MSN, RN, ASC-BC, Manager, Comprehensive Stroke Center.

A research team from The Miriam and Bradley hospitals will compare approaches to reduce post-partum diabetes, including the integration of medically tailored meals, as part of a $10 million multi-state study.
