The division of general internal medicine at Rhode Island and The Miriam hospitals sponsors a wide array of research activities.
The division is academically affiliated with the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. Our relationship provides us with the unique opportunity to access various patient populations and to offer a broad range of research trials.
Research areas investigated and presented nationally include HIV prevention and care, substance use disorders, and tobacco cessation. Our investigators collaborate closely with investigators across the Lifespan and Brown University communities, including the Center for Alcohol and Addiction Studies and the Immunology Center at the Miriam Hospital.
